Nativo ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

When you use Nativo, we may collect:

• Email address — when you join our waitlist or create an account
• Usage data — which features you use, how often, and your progress (lessons completed, streak, phrases learned)
• Conversation data — text you enter into our AI features to generate responses. We do not store conversation history beyond your current session.
• Device information — browser type, operating system, and IP address for security and analytics

We do not collect payment information directly — payments are handled by Stripe, which has its own privacy policy.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve Nativo's language learning features
• To send you product updates and launch notifications (only if you opted in)
• To track your learning progress and personalize your experience
• To diagnose bugs and improve performance
• To comply with legal obligations

3. AI Features and Your Text

When you use features like the Native Translator, AI Chat, or Freeze Test, the text you type is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. Anthropic processes this data according to their own privacy policy. We do not store the content of your AI conversations on our servers.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

Nativo uses browser localStorage to remember your daily AI usage limit, streak, and lesson progress. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers unless you create an account.

We may use analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics) to understand how people use the site. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Anthropic — to power AI features (text you enter only)
• Stripe — to process payments (Pro subscribers only)
• Netlify — our hosting provider
• Law enforcement — only when legally required

6. Data Retention

We retain your email address for as long as you are on our waitlist or have an active account. You can request deletion at any time. Usage data is retained for up to 12 months for analytics purposes.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent to marketing emails at any time
• File a complaint with your local data protection authority

8. Children's Privacy

Nativo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as Nativo grows. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email. Continued use of Nativo after changes means you accept the updated policy.
